REASONS WHY YOUR SUPERVISOR HAS NOT APROVED/ REJECTS YOUR PROJECT TOPIC

You may become nervous when your supervisor continue to reject your project topics when actually did not tell you what the problem is all about. Many students may even think their supervisor has an hidden feelings for them that causes him to reject their project topics.

Below are some of the identified reasons that make your supervisor rejects any project topic you submitted.

Old Topics: choosing a research topic that is not relative to the present time can be annoying to your supervisor with the opinion that you already have a past work to plagiarise i.e. to copy word to word for him. It is highly advisable for such student whose supervisor pose on this, to think of recent issues or something new to research. • May be you cannot defend your topics… try to know many things about your topics
• May be your topics are not clear… try to check your variables and reframe if needed
• May be your topics are too complex to complete within the stipulated time… try to narrow it
• May be your topics is not coming from your supervisor’s area of specialisation or interest… know your supervisor interest or area of specialisation
• May be somebody is currently doing the same topic… try to generate another topics
• May be your topics need to be reframed…try to reframe or seek experience hand to do that for you
• May be your topics are not structured in a convincing manner… convince your supervisor at just a glance with your topic

Note: that your topic must contain at least an independent variable and a dependent variable in order to make sense to your supervisor
